We believe it is important for every
resident to be offered a choice of
activities to suit their wishes and
abilities. These help to keep residents
mobile and alert, and encourage them to
take an interest in the people and the
things happening around them.
Because it’s important, we employ a
Social Activities Coordinator who offers
a range of activities every morning and
encourages residents to join in. In the
afternoon, care staff organise other
interesting things for residents to do.
Visiting entertainers provide regular
in-house entertainment.
Games, discussions, music, hobbies,
reading, quizzes, reminiscing, and
outings are just a few of the activities
on offer. All major events throughout
the year such as Christmas, Easter, and
VE Day are celebrated with parties and
in other ways.
Residents who want to record the
important events in their lives are
helped to complete a Life Story booklet.
“In-house entertainment was in
full swing on the morning of the
inspection,
providing service users with a very
pleasant sing-along and a good laugh.”
